JLL hires Viorel Opaiț

JLL, the real estate consultancy company announces hiring Viorel Opaiţ as Business Development Director. He will be responsible for developing long-term partnerships with key players in the real estate market (landlords, tenants, investors), focusing mainly on the office and industrial segments.

Viorel graduated the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE Bucharest), having over 10 years’ experience in the real estate industry, over 100 successfully completed transactions, totaling more than 500,000 sqm of transacted space. During his career, Viorel was one of the most active consultants on the market, his name being linked to many landmark transactions such as the sale of A1 Business Park, and the offices consolidation for Vodafone, ING Bank and Microsoft.

Marius Scuta, National Director for JLL, comments: "We are excited about Viorel Opaiţ joining our team. Viorel is one of the most experienced professional on the real estate market in Romania, with an exceptional track record in his 10 years of career in the field. This constitutes a promise to our clients, who will benefit from the cumulative competence of a senior team in all business lines. After a good 2014, in 2015 JLL will strengthen its team of specialists and will further announce new senior appointments in the company. Our strategy is to expand punctual rather than extensive, the quality of people being of utmost importance for us, proven ethics and experience - fundamental requirements that we search in potential candidates."

With regards to the real estate market in 2015, Viorel Opaiţ, Business Development Director at JLL, states: "We will witness the birth of new office poles, as part of the challenge of balancing Bucharest in terms of urban development and traffic. This birth is also based on the increased demand registered in the last two years, originated mainly from the IT and outsourcing sectors, a demand for more flexible office space and improved accessibility for employees. A consequence of the future stock will be the increased number of investment transactions, sustained by the growing interest of investors for Romania that we started witnessing last year. As for the industrial segment, new players have entered the market in 2014, a clear proof of this segment’s potential. Automotive manufacturers will continue to invest in increasing their production capacity in Romania in the newly established economic and political framework that will translate in future transactions in the main secondary cities. I am very happy to join the team JLL, where I have found a high level of professionalism and integrity from the very first day, sharing the same vision towards excellence in business."

Prior to JLL, Viorel Opaiţ has worked for another real estate consultancy company in Romania, within the corporate services department.
