PROFI, one of the largest tenants of CTPark Bucharest West, expands its warehouse space to 67,000 sqm

PROFI operates three types of warehouses in CTPark Bucharest West: ambient and temperature-controlled for chilled and frozen products

Bucharest, 27 December 2022 - CTP, the largest developer and manager of logistics and industrial space in Romania, is expanding its partnership with PROFI, the company with the largest number of employees in Romania. The current expansion delivered by CTP for PROFI increases the retailer's footprint in CTPark Bucharest West to 67,000 sqm.

CTP delivered a new 10,000 sqm building on time and on budget for PROFI. The new premises complement the existing warehouse space and meet PROFI's medium and long-term development needs. All spaces have been designed and built to be suitable for the retailer's entire product range, from non-perishable products that do not require special storage conditions to those that require temperature control, such as dairy, fruit, vegetables, meat and frozen products.

"From the beginning of our relationship with PROFI, we have thought about our long-term partnership and together we have built the necessary premises so that we can respond quickly and agilely to the development needs of the client, which operates in an extremely dynamic sector with major growth potential. Today, together, we have reached an occupied area of over 67,000 sqm, which has grown with the network of stores owned by PROFI in Romania and offers all the necessary facilities for their wide range of products", said Ana Dumitrache, Country Head CTP Romania.

The PROFI warehouse in CTPark Bucharest West will be equipped with a photovoltaic park with an installed capacity of 3 MW, which will provide an additional energy flow of approximately 4100 MWh/year, to make consumption more efficient especially during peak periods. PROFI also recently announced that it is carrying out a pilot project to implement photovoltaic panels on its stores in Șag, Făget, Timișoara, Giarmata, Sânandrei, Lipova, and other locations, as an energy saving measure with both immediate and long-term effects.

"CTPark Bucharest West was our first choice when we evaluated the opportunity of the current expansion, as it was a natural continuation of our partnership with CTP, which has proven that it can offer us customized spaces tailored to our needs, built to the highest quality standards. An additional factor in our decision was sustainability and the investments that the developer is constantly making, such as the installation of solar panels, to further optimize and streamline energy consumption, priorities that are aligned with our needs, but also with our principles," said Gaetan Pacton, General Manager Profi Romania.

With 28,000 employees and more than 1,640 integrated stores and partners present in about 770 localities, PROFI is the company with the largest number of employees in Romania.

The lease transaction was advised by real estate consultancy Jones Lang LaSalle.

"We have always known that PROFI has big ambitions to continuously grow its business and that it needs the right partners to facilitate this. Working with CTP, a leader in their field, is an excellent fit. We are delighted to help bring this expansion to fruition and believe it is a positive outlook for next year and a remarkable end to the year for them," said Viorel Opaiț, Business Development Director at JLL Romania.

Located west of Bucharest, at km 23 on the A1 motorway, CTPark Bucharest West is the largest industrial park in Romania and in the CTP network, a developer present in 10 countries. CTPark Bucharest West has a leasable area of more than 770,000 sqm and hosts more than 2,000 employees working permanently in the industrial park.

CTPark Bucharest West offers the best quality of life in an industrial park, and employees can also benefit from the services of the Clubhaus, a multifunctional space that includes a training and wellbeing centre equipped with meeting rooms, offices, an amphitheatre, restaurant and café with terrace, as well as a medical practice. The Clubhaus recently received BREEAM Outstanding certification, a national first and the first certification of this level awarded to an industrial park development.

In Romania, CTP owns a total of over 2.3 million sqm of Class A warehouses in 15 other cities: Bucharest, Arad, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Deva, Oradea, Pitesti, Sibiu, Timisoara, Turda, Targu Mures, Caransebes, Ineu and Salonta.
